How much is your time worth? 

This may seem like a really simple… and maybe even silly question but I want to challenge you to take this question seriously. 

You see, I remember the first time I was asked this question, and to be perfectly honest, my answer was, “I don’t know.”

As in, “I don’t really care… and what does it matter?”

Well, thankfully, I listened and completed the short exercise that was challenged to me and…

IT’S BEEN LIFE CHANGING!

Yes. Really.

Two Scenarios to Think About: 

1. How much is your time worth, based on what you are currently earning with your business?
2. How much is your time worth, based on your future earnings (your goals) for your business?

#1 How Much is Your Time Worth, Based on What You are Currently Earning with Your Business? 

As an example, let’s use imaginary Consultant Mary.

Mary works her Network Marketing business an average of 10 hours a week, and earns an average of $1000 a month.

Plugging Mary’s numbers in to the free worksheet download I’ve created for you, Mary earns $23 an hour from her NWM business.

So, how much is Mary’s time worth? $23 an hour.

For every hour Mary spends surfing the Internet, scrolling Facebook, Instagram, etc… time when she’s ‘working her business’ but not really “working” her business… cleaning up files on her computer, organizing her office, etc.

What does that ‘wasted time’ cost Mary? $23 an hour. 

What about the time Mary spends doing things that she could hire someone to do for her… for less than $23 an hour?

And no, we’re not talking about the things Mary enjoys doing but those things she really doesn’t like doing at all but things that must be done.

Do you see how Mary could increase her income simply by being more focused when she works?

And how hiring help where needed, could actually free up her time, giving her more time to work her Network Marketing business, resulting in increased income?

Maybe this scenario above is nothing like where you are at in your business. Maybe you are earning more or maybe less.

Maybe you work many more hours a week than 10!

Regardless, download the worksheet and use it to figure out exactly what your time is CURRENTLY worth.

#2 How Much is Your Time Worth, Based on Your Earning Goals for Your Business? 

This is where the fun begins!

I like to call it Life by Design.

Might sound a bit quirky but be honest, aren’t you just a little intrigued?

1. How much do you want to be earning in your business? And I do NOT want you to set a time line. If you could wave a magic wand and be earning X amount of dollars today in your business. How much would that $ amount be?
2. How many hours a week do you want to work your business? And this isn’t what you think it ‘should’ be. It’s about what YOU WANT.

You will love how simple it is to fill in the blanks using this simple formula.

And if you are anything like me, when you know what our time is worth based on our earning ‘goals’ you are going to have a major shift in your thinking process when it comes to working your business… and deciding what and where to spend your time! 

Once you’ve completed the exercise and you know exactly what your time is worth, then what?

Well, it’s now time to keep this $$ amount in the front of your mind.

For example, I keep mine on my bulletin board near my desk where I work from home. Another idea would be to keep in in your planner where you will frequently see it.

Then, as you schedule your days, weeks and months… be aware of time you might be wasting on tasks that aren’t ‘worth’ your time.

You know, those tasks you might be doing to avoid the ones that will move you closer to your goals.

Then also, as your income grows, look for things you can hire help for. Those might be household chores or thing in your business. 

Tip: as your business grows and as your confidence increases, this is an exercise you will want to revisit again and again!
